Good morning,
Today sees the start of a huge end to the week for scheduled news. After a relatively quiet stretch of data that's all about to change today.
US inflation numbers are out after lunch. Economists are predicting annual growth of 5.6%. This will be closely followed after the recent rhetoric in the press around inflation dropping towards the back of the year with the fear that the drop could overshoot the 2% target. This could lead national banks like the Bank of England and the FED to reduce interest rates again.
Then there's a speech from the ECB followed by a first speech of the day from the Bank of England Governor, Andrew Bailey.
The Bank of Canada releases it's interest rate decision mid afternoon where analysts are predicting the rate to be left the same at 4.5%. This is followed by a press conference from the Bank of Canada.
Tea time sees the federal open market committee in the States release it's meeting minutes before the second speech of the day from the BoE Governor.
Moving into the early hours of tomorrow sees no let off of pace from scheduled news.
Australian unemployment numbers, Chinese import and export data then UK GDP information at breakfast time.
A real rollercoaster for the next 24 hours.
