Countdown Is Commencing

Expect news stories to start really ramping up in the countdown to the budget.

Generally speaking both sides of most questions are covered. Tax hikes and tax cuts.

The honest answer is that not much is really know until around the week before.

At this stage it's a case of ministers meeting, and discussing a huge number of topics and scenarios, and presenting cases for each.

This will then be whittled down by the treasury before the Chancellor of the Exchequer takes to the podium on 28th October.

Whilst there's never a definitive outcome, historically there has been plenty of activity for the Pound as these news stories are broadcasted.

Most economists seem to be fearing a weakening of Sterling in coming weeks....although they're often wrong.

Here at Regency FX we deal with these types of news stories on a daily basis, and your dedicated account manager is on hand to discuss ways to potentially mitigate risk.

Outside of the budget, there's continuing schedule economic news.

This week sees Chinese and US inflation numbers. The latter is expected to come in at an annualised growth rate of 3.7% which is almost double the FEDs 2% target.

There's also UK GDP numbers out and the Eurozone inflation rate where a 3.8% annualised growth is expected.
